Northern Liberties Thursdays
Play Bocce on Thursdays* on the 2 courts in the beer garden at North Bowl in Northern Liberties. Games start at 6:30pm and run every 45 minutes
throughout the night. Celebrate your win or commiserate your loss at the bar all night long with all of your new best friends in Philly.
*Please note: North Bowl is closing the beer garden on Friday, 11/1. Therefore, the last night of games this fall is Thursday, 10/31. To fit in all our games, "Week 4" will be played Tuesday, 10/8. We are also planning ahead for rain make-ups. Please keep 10/15 & 10/22 open in the event of any weather-related cancellations. Full schedule below.

Bar Specials
Our
sponsor beer, Dogfish Head will be on special all season exclusively
for bocce players at $4/pint. Our sponsor bar also provides a handful of
menu items discounted during League nights.
Things to Know on Game Nights
Each
night, make sure to check in with a Black Shirt upon arrival. Please be
on time and ready to play each week. A minimum of 2 players are
required to avoid a forfeit during regular season games (a min. of 3
players are required for playoffs). When you are done with your game,
report your score to a Black Shirt, and of course enjoy bocce specials
at the bar and make some new best friends. Standings and pictures will be updated on the website a few
days after games.
How Do You Play?
This
league will be governed by our Bar Bocce Permanent Court rules. Games will
be played to 14 points or 45 minutes, whichever comes first. See our Bocce Rules page for more details.
Rain Rain Go Away
In
the event we need to cancel games due to lousy weather, we'll post the
news on our Facebook page as well as send out an e-mail update by 4pm on
game day. Any cancelled games will be made up at a later date.
Winner Takes All
What
do you get for being a bocce champion this season? The bocce team that
ultimately reigns supreme garners bragging rights, a trophy, and
commemorative Major League Bocce pint glasses or koozies! Good luck to all teams!
Dogfish Head Ticket Contest
Drink
beer, get rewarded! Every time you order a Dogfish Head beer you get a
ticket from your bartender or server. Write your bocce team name on your
tickets, turn them in to the ticket bucket and at the end of the night,
the tickets will be used towards the nightly raffle at the bar as well
as towards the grand prize at the end of the season.
